vert good and would stay there again if ever in Singapore

I thought that the breakfast was ok, but there were a few missing by the time we got down for breakfast.

The first room we were given, the door was open and it had looked like someone had used the room. I am also an asthmatic and I found that the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. As soon as we spoke to someone the problem was sorted and the staff were excellent.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was plentiful. Dinners were prepared quickly and were delicious.

Exceptional

Staff were super helpful and friendly. The alacarte dinner menu was extremely extensive and value for money. Decor in the lounge was original (sheep and cupcake footstools) and comfortable. Location was within 5-15 minutes every where we went.

Buffet breakfast had a good selection but not a lot of variety between days so it was the almost the same thing every day. Shuttle service to nearby locations only operated until 12:00.

Very welcoming, free shuttle offered for botanical gardens or mrt station, near to Tanglin shops.

The staff, the sense of community, and money spent being for a worthwhile cause.

The carpet is yet to be renewed on the fourth floor, i'm guessing as funds are available.

Enjoyed our stay. A very good budget alternative.

Reception welcoming and helpful to our needs. Room good size, as was the bathroom; both very clean and well equipped. Room included coffee/tea making equipment plus coffee/tea bags and a complementary bottle of water each, note pad and pencil and travel toothbrush and toothpaste. Restaurant very nice as was the foyer. Four of us thought the breakfast was very good, offering choice of cereals, eggs, toast and toppings, and a range of Asian style dishes, plus good coffee if you followed the directions on the machine. Wifi worked well in foyer and in our rooms. Location quite convenient using public transport: 5 minutes walk from Stevens MRTwhich gets you easily, safely and inexpensively to all other parts of Singapore; used it to go to the Gardens by the Bay etc; free shuttle bus from hotel to Orchard Road shops, and can return using bus - stops opposite, or via MRT (was too far to walk for us! Didn't use pool but it looked nice. Used the hotel's shuttle service from the airport; cost was 55 SGD for the four of us.

The initial booking didn't make it clear that rooms did not have a window. Probably would have paid more if I had known. The room was really very clean but the carpet in the passage way needs to be renewed as it was very stained and musky smelling. Our air conditioning in our twin room worked very well but the one where our friends were in malfunctioned. We booked it under 'Zen Rooms', but the name of hotel was called Metropolitan Y. Could lead to confusion if using taxi to get there, if you didn't know both names
